IVECO: The new MUV

Iveco Defence Vehicles has extensive experience observing and predicting current and future trends in its field, developing military vehicles to meet global operational requirements.

In recent years, the company has identified the need for a light vehicle specifically designed to undertake a variety of roles from providing U.N. and NATO humanitarian aid, homeland security missions, logistic support and training, to satisfying the military requirements of non-NATO forces.

In response, the company has developed a new generation of unprotected and lightly protected vehicles. The new MUV is the result of the Company’s vast experience in the sector of light vehicles, highlighted by the extraordinary commercial success of its predecessor, the M40E15-WM, which has sold more than 18,000 units worldwide over the last 30 years.

The MUV is also available for civilian use as it fully complies with the required safety and environmental regulations through features such as ergonomic seats, good soundproofing, seatbelts, airbag system and Euro VI diesel engines. The vehicle can be used as a rescue vehicle, a medical asset, for snow clearance, as a light recovery vehicle or by the emergency unit command post.

CNH Industrial’s Iveco unveils first electric truck in partnership with Nikola

The new truck is expected to give a boost to Iveco’s European business.

A partnership like that between Nicola and CNH Industrial (IVECO) could be a turning point, perhaps a real threat to competitors.

The truck will be produced in full electric and hydrogen fuel cell models, with a range of up to 600 miles (966 km). Deliveries of the electric version are expected to reach clients in 2021 and of the hydrogen cell model in 2023.

FCA discusses improved Renault merger bid to win French backing

PARIS (Reuters) – Fiat Chrysler is discussing a Renault special dividend and stronger job guarantees in a bid to persuade the French government to back its proposed merger between the carmakers, sources close to the discussions said.

The improved offer, if formalized and accepted, would also see the combined company’s operations headquartered in France and the French state granted a seat on its board, two people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Sunday.

FCA spokeswoman Shawn Morgan declined to comment. The French government, Renault’s biggest shareholder with a 15 percent stake, also declined to comment. A Renault spokesman did not return calls and messages seeking comment.

Italian-American FCA is engaged in intensive discussions with Renault and the French government over the $35 billion merger proposal it pitched last Monday to create the world’s third-biggest carmaker.

The concessions being discussed are not definitive and depend on other aspects of an emerging compromise deal, both sources cautioned.

They nonetheless increase the chances that the merger plan will be approved by Renault’s board, on which the French state has two seats. The board meets again on Tuesday.
