L’Istituto “Nautico San Giorgio” di Genova e Camogli rappresenta una delle più antiche scuole tecniche italiane, essendo stato istituito nel 1827 su Decreto Regio sabaudo. In tutti questi anni la sua funzione è stata quella di formare soprattutto allievi ufficiali di coperta e di macchina per la Marina Mercantile italiana, nonché costruttori navali per la cantieristica. Sino ad oggi si sono diplomati oltre 20.000 studenti.
The “Nautico San Giorgio” Institute of Genoa and Camogli represents one of the oldest Italian technical schools, having been established in 1827 on the Royal Savoy Decree. In all these years its function has been to train mainly deck and engine officers for the Italian Merchant Navy, as well as shipbuilders for shipbuilding. To date, over 20,000 students have graduated.

From…Racing history: 250 Testa Rossa
The 250 Testa Rossa was raced successfully throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. (Not to be confused with Ferrari 500 TR or Ferrari Testarossa)
Independent teams raced the 250 TR alongside Scuderia Ferrari cars from 1958 on, although the most developed versions of the car were restricted to factory-sanctioned teams only.
250 TRs were extremely competitive during this time, winning 10 World Sportscar Championship races including the 1958, 1960, and 1961 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 1958, 1959 and 1961 12 Hours of Sebring, the 1958 Targa Florio, the 1958 and 1960 1000 km Buenos Aires and the 1961 4 hours of Pescara. Notable drivers included Phil Hill, Olivier Gendebien, Luigi Musso, Peter Collins, Dan Gurney, Wolfgang von Trips and Mike Hawthorne, among others.
The excellent results of 250 TRs and Scuderia Ferrari’s skilled drivers earned Ferrari the 1958, 1960 and 1961 Constructor’s World Sportscar Championship titles.
The Aston Martin DBR1 and the Porsche 718 were the 250 TR’s closest competitors during this time. Stirling Moss drove a DBR1 to win first place against strong Ferrari opposition at the 1958 1000km Nürburgring, and DBR1s would go on to win over 250 TRs at the 1959 Le Mans, Nürburgring, and Tourist Trophy races, depriving Ferrari of the Constructor’s World Championship in 1959.

The flower of anger

The depth of the sea preserves the anger and resignation of the just.

Ti guardo al tramonto: i colori e il sale entrano nel mio cuore per riempire gli spazi dei sogni e le ferite della mia anima.
Il mare è un grande pianista di canzoni lente: accompagnato solo dai miei pensieri silenziosi, porta agli Dei la sua musica e il fiore della mia già matura rabbia, come petali pieni di veleno e rancori.
Neanche le api magiche dell’Olimpo possono trasformare così tanto fiele in miele.
Per ciò che l’ingiustizia e l’invidia distruggono, l’uomo può trovare la pace solo nella vendetta atroce o nella ricostruzione della vita.
Il mare sa essere pace e vendetta, lavoro e morte, bellezza e paura: con il rombo delle sue onde, il mare zittisce le chiacchiere di anime povere e ignoranti ma accoglie le lacrime della Terra e l’onore di coloro che non si arrendono.
La profondità del mare preserva la rabbia e la rassegnazione dei giusti.
Mare infinito, trova un posto, dove annegare le mie bestemmie e dammi la forza per ottenere nuove vittorie!

Mia madre
è un filo d’argento
che unisce
mare e Luna:
tremulo luccichio
in notti buie.
Fragili bagliori
resistenti alle burrasche
e all’infinito,
resistenti al pianto
al dolore,
alle mie assenze
al mio orgoglio
ai mie sogni,
alle mie sconfitte.
Filo d’argento
che lega il dono
al coraggio:
il dono della vita
al coraggio d’affrontarla.
